Opening K-Shell the first time on macOS
- Open the
.dmgand drag K-Shell into Applications. - Open K-Shell. macOS shows:
Apple could not verify “K-Shell” is free of malware that may harm your Mac or compromise your privacy.
Click Done. - Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down to Security and click Open Anyway next to “K-Shell” was blocked to protect your Mac.
- Click Open Anyway in the dialog and enter your Mac password. K-Shell opens, and macOS won't ask again.
On macOS 14 or earlier, Control-click K-Shell in Applications and choose Open instead.
Prefer the Terminal? Run xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/K-Shell.app once.
Why: K-Shell isn't notarized by Apple yet (that needs a paid Apple developer account). The source code is public and every installer is built by GitHub Actions from a tagged release.
On Windows
If you see Windows protected your PC
